A BFA graduate of the University of Illinois’ Lighting Design program with a diverse portfolio in live entertainment and events, Austin Shapley joined Lightswitch in 2009 to continue his passion for multidisciplinary visual design. Since then, Austin has designed award-winning lighting and media for a broad range of clients. His work includes concert tours for Imagine Dragons, Lindsey Stirling and John Legend; environments such as “Illumination” holiday lighting at The Morton Arboretum; and tradeshow exhibits for Samsung, Electronic Arts and Biomet. Austin has also designed media for corporate events hosted by McDonald’s, Lowe’s and NuSkin. When he’s not crafting custom media experiences for his clients, he can be found photographing nature and events. A proud technophile, Austin is also the creator of the “Clever Robot” quarterly and is perpetually on the prowl for the latest and greatest innovations in entertainment technology.
