Nebraska native Casey Diers graduated Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Lighting Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University. Since then, Casey has created the lighting for hundreds of theatre and dance productions, as well as television, film and music videos. These include “Christmas at DePaul,” “Stones in His Pockets” and “Outgoing Tide” at Northlight Theatre; “Freshly Fallen Snow” with the Chicago Dramatists; and TV shows “Mob Doctor” and “Empire.” While pursing a freelance lighting design career, he also designed, sold and integrated theatrical and architectural lighting control systems for projects at Navy Pier, Lake Forest Academy, Writers Theatre and Richmond Hill Players. In this capacity, Casey expanded his knowledge of lighting control systems and earned a reputation for his exceptional customer service and meticulous attention to detail. His knowledge of both the art and science of light have made him a valuable resource to the Lightswitch Chicago team, where he lends his project management and design expertise to our architectural projects.
