Peyton’s course in lighting stems from his time at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, IL where he graduated with a BFA in Theatrical Lighting Design, working as a Designer and Master Electrician.
As an architectural designer, he has experience with high-end corporate and retail-repositioning work, designing lighting for office layouts, food service and amenities spaces, and site and building lobby areas. This work includes features such as green wall lighting, circadian adaptive tuning, video conference room lighting, and daylight analysis. He is fluent with many design programs including Autocad, Vectorworks, AGi32, Adobe Creative Suite, and Revit, among the host of other tools used at Lightswitch.
At DePaul, he designed The Theater School’s premiere mainstage production in a new 75-million-dollar facility designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, illuminating a rotating cast of notable alumni including Gillian Anderson and John C. Reilly. While in production of this show, he designed a classmate’s Masters in Stage Direction thesis project, which was also the U.S. premiere for the Australian playwright. His past experience also includes opera lighting, music and live event production, and tour management.
