Millenium Park Grand Gala

What It Was

The City of Chicago held a gala event to raise money to maintain this brand-new park in the center of downtown. They invited donors and workers alike to this event which included a dinner, dancing, performances by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, a sky ballet, and a spectacle to close the evening.

What We Did

Calling all hands from across the country, and even some international friends, Lightswitch not only highlighted the performances and park structures, we established a dialogue between the park and the surrounding architecture using the latest in searchlight technology. We worked closely with producer Jam Productions, the City and Melrose Pyrotechnics to elegantly showcase the beauty of the park.

Why It Worked

Using pre-visualization software kept the show a relative secret until the big night. Coordinated music, fireworks and searchlights dazzled the crowd inside and the spectators who had gathered outside as well. We infused Chicago's Millennium Park with an artistic human spirit for one magnificent evening.
