EFX!

MGM Resorts | 1995

EFX! at the MGM Grand Hotel can be considered one of the most spectacular shows in the world.

What It Was

EFX! at the MGM Grand Hotel can be considered one of the most spectacular shows in the world. The $60 million dollar production uses state of the art lighting, scenery and projections and is currently Las Vegas' largest stage production.

What We Did

Pani Projectors are used to create scenic backgrounds as well as textural effects that cover 300 ft. of scrims and scenery. These massive images help to transition from one scene into another as the story advances. Lightswitch lit scaled models for large format cameras and later digitally refined the images, enabling them to be projected at implausible sizes.

Why It Worked

A 30-minute walk-in module of constantly moving and evolving environments greets guests as they enter the theater, impressing them from the beginning. Lightswitch lighting has helped this amazing production to take guests on a journey without leaving their seats.
