G&W Electric Showroom

G&W Electric | Bolingbrook | 2013

Inspired by the client’s desire to have a showroom unlike any other, Lightswitch Architectural thought outside of the box when it came to the lighting and controls systems.

What It Was

Global power equipment supplier G&W wanted a new showroom that was as electric and high-voltage as its products. Interior design firm Epstein Global took an artistic approach, designing a dynamic, exciting space that, fittingly, radiates energy.

What We Did

Inspired by the client’s desire to have a showroom unlike any other, Lightswitch Architectural thought outside of the box when it came to the lighting and controls systems. We channeled our experience lighting museum exhibits to create a design for an immersive environment that engages visitors and simultaneously spotlights G&W’s products. Clever, creative touches, such as linear neon lights that mimic an electric grid, set the tone for the experience, while precise, accurate lighting allow the products to shine.

Why It Worked

Never ones to design “by the book,” we jumped at the chance to elevate a showroom from average to electric using unconventional lighting techniques. Our experience designing everything from exhibits to architecture gave us a unique perspective that enabled us to meet the client’s needs for both functionality and style, all while achieving fiscal responsibility with our supply-assist program.
