Hong Kong Jockey Club - HVRC Racing Club Restaurant

DWP Hong Kong | Hong Kong | 2012

Lightswitch designed the restaurant lighting to complement the elegant interiors and provide ample illumination for dining and viewing the races.

What It Was

With its first-class track views, the new Racing Club restaurant at the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Happy Valley racecourse is a prime spot to catch the action while dining in style. Interior designer dwp updated the existing 300-square-meter restaurant with a new open kitchen and bar area, banquette seating that overlooks the track, and luxurious materials and finishes.

What We Did

Lightswitch designed the restaurant lighting to complement the elegant interiors and provide ample illumination for dining and viewing the races. Minimally obtrusive MR16 downlights pinspot tables while receding into the rich wood paneled ceilings. Warm, amber-hued cove lighting defines the seating banquettes, bar and artwork, providing an extra layer of dimension.

Why It Worked

We coordinated extensively with long-time collaborator DWP Hong Kong to ensure that the lighting blended seamlessly with the signature interior design elements.
