Since the hall functions mainly as a betting area, Lightswitch needed to provide guests ample lighting for viewing betting screens and reading forms. We used a combination of fluorescent sources to illuminate the betting counters, booths and two wings of the betting hall with ample, even illumination, focusing on achieving the target illuminance levels for public spaces.
For the restaurant and VIP room, where light levels were less of a concern, we added MR16 downlights to create a higher-contrast, moody atmosphere. The jockey and horse forms in the three-dimensional mural that lines the food court lobby are silhouetted with LED tape for additional visual interest.
