Imagine Dragons "Into the Night" Tour

North American Tour | 2014

One of music's breakout artists, Imagine Dragons became touring sensations as they played to sold-out shows throughout the Night Visions tour.

What It Was

One of music's breakout artists, Imagine Dragons became touring sensations as they played to sold-out shows throughout the Night Visions tour. Produced by Live Nation, the Into the Night tour took the band to over 20 cities across North America including Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, and Minneapolis and was the band's last round of U.S. and Canadian shows before heading into the studio to start work on their sophomore album

What We Did

From a 24’ truck and clubs to multiple tractor-trailers and sold out arenas, it has been a remarkable year for Grammy Award Winning band Imagine Dragons. As the venue size increased, Lightswitch is proud to have been along every step of the way. As the group’s popularity exploded we worked with production designer Nook Schoenfeld to scale the production into the last step of a three-phase design, that was conceived by Imagine Dragons, Nook and Lightswitch to scale efficiently.

Why It Worked

Often as venue sizes increase, bands leave a trail of discarded scenic and creative elements behind. The design for Imagine Dragons was conceived from the beginning to scale and expand to be as efficient as possible. Set pieces and video content were reformatted and reused from clubs to theaters to arenas. The central feature, a round ‘moon like’ screen, started in clubs as a rising moon, rose further in theaters until it transformed into a full moon for the final leg. A moonrise began the show, and a lunar eclipse closed out the concert, bookending this journey Into the Night.
