What It Was

Borrowing from the bygone era when corporate productions were live stage shows not just ‘talking head’ presentations, this prominent national client chose to produce a Broadway-style live performance for their convention in at the Thomas and Mack Arena in Las Vegas in September 2011. Hosting tens of thousands of guests in three waves over two days, the company provided a musical theatre performance featuring a cast of 14 singers and dancers and a live 12–person orchestra, added artistic emphasis to their corporate program.

What We Did

Our reputation as media specialists and our depth of experience in cCorporate and Broadway theatre made us the natural choice to provide multi-media and visual design as part of a large, well-established, collaborative design team for this project. Working with this creative group, we devised a screen layout that included one large central LED screen and two smaller flanking video surfaces. Lightswitch created content to coordinate motion graphics animations with image magnification, speaker support, and other media. The design of ‘frames’ to create various sized windows for commercials, speaker support graphics, and IMAG projections also contributed to the cohesive and seamless transition between diverse sources.

Why It Worked

Creating a scenic environment based primarily on video display technology allowed for a design that integrated a traditional camera and speaker support presentation with interesting video playback and animated graphics. The successful blending of live entertainment with projected imagery created a memorable and vivid visual experience for the large audience.
