In coordination with exhibit designer Gyroscope Inc. and fabricator Group Delphi, Lightswitch Architectural designed the exhibit lighting.
The Pacific Science Center opened its first exhibit in more than a decade. Based around a fictitious character named Dr. Wellbody, the 7,000-square foot exhibit immerses guests in his famous Health & Wellness Academy where interactive displays teach guests how exercise, diet, proper rest and hygiene can improve their health.
In coordination with exhibit designer Gyroscope Inc. and fabricator Group Delphi, Lightswitch Architectural designed the exhibit lighting. We coordinated with Intelligent Lighting Creations to provide Group Delphi with the latest LED luminaires that added an experiential quality to the space and met the client’s energy-efficiency goals. Additional low-profile track fixtures work with the low ceiling height and produce sufficient light for guests to read exhibit text. We programmed the lighting control system to integrate with the AV system for ease of use.
Lightswitch Architectural used our unique design supply-assist program to guide Group Delphi through the lighting equipment purchase and installation processes. We not only stayed on budget, but also helped the museum obtain a utility rebate for the LED fixtures. Photos by Doug A. Salin
