A proud member of the Lightswitch team since 2009, Austin Shapley possesses a diverse portfolio in live entertainment and events. His passion for multidisciplinary visual design has led him to create award-winning lighting and media for a broad range of clients for over a decade. His work includes immersive garden experiences such as “Night Bloom” at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers and “Illumination” at The Morton Arboretum; trade show exhibits like ZimmerBiomet, Cornerstone, Samsung, and Electronic Arts; corporate events for Virgin Galactic, Cisco, NuSkin, Deloitte, Fiserv, and McDonald's; and shows for music legends Hans Zimmer, Imagine Dragons, and John Legend.
A proud technophile, Austin is also the creator of Lightswitch’s “Clever Robot” quarterly: an “inspiration forge” of ideas and collaboration. His interest in robotics and his cautious curiosity for AI lead him to seek out the latest innovations in entertainment technology. When he’s not spending his free time camping, he’s probably at a music festival, enjoying someone else’s lighting design!
