From working in stagecraft for over a decade, Mara has cultivated experience in theatrical, gallery, concert, and corporate event lighting. It was through this exposure that she came to understand the mechanisms required to create and build on all kinds of scale.  Additionally, Mara upholds a longstanding interest in music and sound design. By drawing influence from various creative disciplines, she’s become attuned to detail and the subtle ways in which light can influence people’s responses and their relation to space. It is around this intersection of science and creativity where she thrives.  In 2021 Mara completed a Masters in Architectural Lighting from New York School of Interior Design. Through her work at Lightswitch, Mara intends to focus on designs that are elegant and pragmatic, while maintaining a commitment towards improving the quality of experience through light.
