I wanted to do special effects for movies, but with the movie industry in Argentina not having the budget for it, I ended up doing lighting and sound for theatre.  My school did a big musical every year and I latched onto the vendors that brought in all our lighting and sound and started working with them outside my school.  That opened up not just my experience horizon, bringing some rock and roll punch to corporate, and theatrical moments to EDM festivals.  Eventually, I came to the US for college and after graduation started touring, which led me to become a designer.”

“A lot of the Argentine/Latino side of me is still very present in how I design.  I have very particular timing that likely comes from growing up in a very musical, rhythmic culture.  I also brought with me the need to know as much as possible about the show: being aware of logistics and budgets, and realizing how this is going to be built every day.  Overall, I want my designs to support and elevate the experience for both the audience and the artist, breaking the boundary of the stage is something I always aim for so the show emanates from the stage and surrounds the audience”

“Karol G’s Mañana Sera Bonito tour is a phenomenal example of this: it’s an incredibly energetic, super-musical show that draws the audience in at all times.  It’s also balanced for cameras, so we lit the audience so Karol can feel close to her fans, but that same audience lighting becomes part of their experience and party.  At the same time, all the cell phone videos can look just as good as the cine-grade cameras on tour, which means the shared experience for everyone is elevated.
