A tightly coordinated lighting plan by designers with the Chicago office of Lightswitch Architectural for the new Writers Theatre in Glencoe, Ill., gives top billing to LEDs. Working closely with building designers from Studio Gang Architects, the lighting group incorporated three DMX-based control systems that allow individual control of every architectural space, from the lobby that glows like a lantern for passers-by to the theater space, itself.
