Pro Football Hall of Fame - A Game for Life

Pro Football Hall of Fame | Canton, OH | 2016

The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s new immersive exhibit, “A Game for Life,” was created by all-stars for all-stars.

What It Was

The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s new immersive exhibit, “A Game for Life,” was created by all-stars for all-stars. The experiential environment takes fans inside a fantasy locker room where holographic versions of Hall of Famers like Joe Namath and Vince Lombardi share inspiring stories about the game. Exhibit producer Immersive Artistry assembled a dream team from the film and theater industries to produce this multisensory experience that presents important character, commitment and individual value lessons learned from the game of football and how they apply to all areas of life.

What We Did

As part of an all-star project team that included an Academy Award-winning film producer, the writers for “Rudy” and “We Are Marshall,” and some of the top talents in theater, Lightswitch designed visual media that immersed guests in the excitement of the sport. We collaborated with producers Ed Jones and Buck Mason of Immersive Artistry, audio producer Mark Binder of IMN Creative, scenic designer Stephen Gifford and lighting designer Visual Terrain to design a seamless guest experience using the most advanced technologies. Using actual footage from the NFL Films library, Lightswitch created a 12-minute-long reel of custom content for the 15 projection screens that supports and enhances the central narrative and surrounds guests in the game. A full-scale mock-up allowed us to perfect the design before the final install in Canton, which took place on accelerated, one-week timeline.

Why It Worked

A team has to work together to win a game. Whether that meant closely collaborating with IMN to sync the media and audio content or coordinating our design with the scenic elements, we were there to support our teammates. The result is a winning experience that is the new benchmark for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s future development.
