Fair Oaks Farms Forest of Light

Fair Oaks Farm welcomes their guests to experience joy and enrichment through reconnecting with the land, nurturing their bodies with good food and community, and immersing themselves in innovative efforts to feed the world. When Fair Oaks Farm wanted to add a holiday light experience to their offerings, they reached out to Lightswitch to design a unique journey for guests, which would span the Farm’s extensive grounds.

Fair Oaks Farm, located on an expansive swath of land in Northern Indiana, gave Lightswitch very few constraints on space. Our challenge instead became figuring out how to craft a manageable journey for guests within that space, while still telling an effective and engaging story. Tasked to reflect Fair Oaks Farm’s brand promise of an authentic, connected, and distinctive experience, we got to work understanding the heritage, dreams, and desires of the area. We then crafted that newfound knowledge into an immersive production design covering over 40 acres. Combining moments of intimate, personal beauty with sweeping vistas, interactive experiences, and more than a little tongue in cheek humor, we created a smash hit experience as unique as Fair Oaks Farm itself, which was loved by guests in its first year.

Our team’s attention to detail and decades of success designing immersive shows allowed us to create an authentic and unique experience that honored the values of the client’s business. We are delighted that Forest of Light was such a success in its inaugural year, and we were proud to help Fair Oaks Farm in their mission to educate, entertain, and create remarkable experiences for their guests.
