Lightswitch teamed up with Room Five Concept to light this coffee shop on Hong Kong Island, which combines gourmet cuisine with a focus on art, culture, and introspection.
This Fujian coffee shop and eatery is located in the International Financial Center (IFC) Mall on Hong Kong Island. The unique venue combines gourmet cuisine with a focus on art and culture, offering visitors an opportunity to engage with diverse experiences while reflecting on their own views and attitudes. This integration of art fosters a rich environment for exploration and appreciation of different perspectives.
Lightswitch teamed up with Room Five Concept to create a lighting design that fits their interior vision. Keeping in line with their brand philosophy, the interior designer broke the space into three main areas, each of which explores a fresh aspect of touch and feel, both physically and intellectually.
Our lighting enhances this multi-faceted experience by implementing differing styles and intensities in each zone. For example, warm, ambient illumination creates a cozy atmosphere in the seating area, inviting guests to relax and socialize. In the second zone, dynamic lighting features and narrow beam downlights highlight the patterns and textures of the decor, adding energy and excitement. The third area uses softer, focused lighting to encourage moments of reflection, introspection, and inspiration.
The Lightswitch philosophy and approach to design allowed us to enhance the overall aesthetic of the Four Bites space and invite guests to embark on a journey through a wide range of experiences during a single visit. We carefully considered how varying lighting techniques can work to evoke a range of moods and feelings, resulting in a transformative atmosphere throughout the restaurant at all times of day and night.
