Lexus National Dealer Meeting

Washington, DC | 2004

Working with GPJ’s event designer, we created a lighting design that would enhance and highlight the architectural elements and nuances of the historic venue.

What It Was

Lexus held their 2004 National Dealer Meeting in Washington DC. The Final Night Dinner was one of three events planned by The George P. Johnson Company over the course of the meeting. Held in the landmark National Building Museum the event was designed to create a historic and elegant setting for a gourmet dinner, completing the two-day meeting attended by North American Lexus dealers.

What We Did

Working with GPJ’s event designer, we created a lighting design that would enhance and highlight the architectural elements and nuances of the historic venue. The event began in daylight but it wasn’t until the sun set and the room become dark that the design was revealed.

Why It Worked

Already stunning in its own right, the museum made the event unique. As night fell and the lighting design unfolded, the dealers found themselves in spectacular surroundings. Slow, dramatic shifts in color across the entirety of the space created an indoor sunset, which led into night. The event was a truly stunning finale to the two-day conference.
