Oracle NAS

Las Vegas | 2008

Working with Rick Goodwin and Video Applications, existing elements from different rock tours were re-purposed to create a dynamic set that filled the Arena.

What It Was

Oracle held their 2008 North American Sales "Kick Off" at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. With only 36 hours from load in to the first show the team led by Invision Communications was challenged to come up with an exciting event based on a "Rock Concert" theme.

What We Did

Working with Rick Goodwin and Video Applications, existing elements from different rock tours were re-purposed to create a dynamic set that filled the Arena. Large, flown cubes with LED moving lights and pyrotechnics tracked horizontally and vertically to reveal the host of the show for a spectacular opening. The cubes also became major set pieces, activated with custom media content to complement the images on the 3 vertically formatted main screens.

Why It Worked

With a limited amount of load in and rehearsal time, pre-visualization was used to pre-program the entire show. Close cooperation between Rigging Technologies, the designers and producers left nothing up to chance. Lightswitch collaborated with all departments to blur the lines between scenery, lighting and media.
