When renowned restaurant Redhouse Seafood opened a new branch in Singapore, Lightswitch had the opportunity to design for the project. The restaurant is located in the Grand Copthorne Waterfront, a 5-star hotel on the Singapore River. It contains seven unique VIP rooms, as well as an open dining area. Through collaboration with FARM interior designers, we were able to deliver a customizable dining experience for lovers of elevated Asian cuisine.
Our lighting design welcomes patrons into the eatery through a softly-lit hallway. We opted to exclude downlighting, instead drawing illumination from ambient lighting on the walls. This approach creates a comforting ambience, allowing guests to enter the space peacefully.
We embraced this historic restaurant’s vision of Asian fusion cuisine by allowing every guest to experience Redhouse in their own way. Each of the seven VIP rooms in the restaurant has its own lighting control setting for lunch and dinner, as well as a separate setting for special events, such as birthday parties.
We found a group of eager collaborators with the talented interior designers at FARM. Working together, our teams were able to create sophisticated, enticing lighting design for Redhouse Seafood in a limited timeframe. We knew that this venerated restaurant, which draws customers from across the globe, deserved lighting worthy of its reputation. Our design offers that and more, helping patrons experience a delicious meal in a setting adjusted to their personal tastes.
