Marvel’s Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition is an immersive experience unlike any other! Celebrating the history and legacy of Spider-Man, from his first comic book appearance in 1962 to his modern-day status as one of the world’s most recognizable and popular icons.
Semmel Exhibitions and Marvel Entertainment teamed up to produce the first major touring exhibition devoted to The Amazing Spider-Man and the entire Spider-Verse of related characters.
Having premiered in 2022 with a limited engagement at San Diego’s Comic-Con Museum, Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition has been revised and expanded for a national tour across the U.S., combining traditional museum presentation with modern techniques to create a unique immersive experience that both educates and entertains.
Semmel Exhibitions once again pulled Lightswitch into their web, to work with them and experienced designers Studio TK Berlin to craft an exhibition worthy of the world's favourite web-slinging superhero!
Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition features everything from immersive areas that meld classic stagecraft with innovative design technologies, to cutting-edge storytelling utilizing high-definition projection, display, and video elements. Special installations give visitors memorable “selfie moments” with some of their favorite characters. Guests can explore over 100 unique artifacts, including priceless original comic and animation art…so our remit was broad.
We combined our pragmatic design experience designing traveling exhibits and concert tours with a deep body of work in the theme park and museum fields to ensure that not only was the experience exciting, dynamic, and immersive but also that the numerous priceless original artifacts were lit to exceed the most stringent curatorial lighting recommendations.
With a wealth of Spider-Man content and experiences, Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition illuminates the entire story of Spider-Man and appeals to all levels of fans – devoted collectors and gamers, families and young children, long-time comic readers and casual enthusiasts alike. Our detailed and thoughtful approach to lighting design guides the guest experience, aids immersion, and ensures artifacts are always enjoyed but never damaged due to inappropriate light levels.
