Square Eight is a restaurant located in MGM Macau, adjacent to the 24-hour open casino area. The restaurant consists of two distinct dining areas: South, dedicated to Chinese BBQ, and North, specializing in Chinese noodle dishes. Lightswitch was brought on to create an inviting ambiance for both sections.
Square Eight is a restaurant located in MGM Macau, adjacent to the 24-hour open casino area. The restaurant consists of two distinct dining areas: South, dedicated to Chinese BBQ, and North, specializing in Chinese noodle dishes. Lightswitch was brought on to create an inviting ambiance for both sections.
Both areas of the restaurant are filled with artifacts and artwork. This presented our team with a unique challenge. Because each object reacts differently to light, we knew that our design must agree with every aspect of the space. Through soft highlighting and a dynamic design, we managed to deliver luminance that complements the eclectic artistic atmosphere of the restaurants.
Throughout our work with the client, our design shifted considerably. However, our dedication to communication and collaboration allowed Lightswitch to successfully deliver Square Eight an open, casual dining space for both their North and South restaurants.
