Xerox - DRUPA

Düsseldorf, Germany | 2004

Transforming a space that is 4000 sq meters (roughly 43,000 sq ft) into an intimate environment is no small feat.

What It Was

DRUPA is the largest trade show for the print industry in the world and Xerox is of course a major player. Xerox hosted a party for 5000 clients and vendors in an abandoned factory. The event was in Düsseldorf, Germany.

What We Did

Transforming a space that is 4000 sq meters (roughly 43,000 sq ft) into an intimate environment is no small feat. Lightswitch collaborated with Andy Warfel to design an environment that utilized the available space and created visual movement through it. A stage at one end of the factory was built for the musical act Bond and the seating areas were covered with richly textured Transformit panels. The panels were lit with many custom gobos, creating a very lush and colorful environment.

Why It Worked

Lightswitch worked with local vendors in Germany to coordinate a very complicated installation. The team of designers and programmers transformed a very industrial environment into a space that was spectacular for a party.
