WHAT IT WAS

Autoshow season is always an exciting time to see the new car models and catch up on industry news. This is especially true for BMW who always has a big presence at the four main US autoshow stops each year. With over twenty thousand square feet of booth space, BMW and Mini create an amazing 2 story structure to feature over 40 cars.

WHAT WE DID

To help manage costs we were asked to utilize the same lighting rig for both the press event and the public booth. Each independent event has its own needs with completely different scenic and lighting requirements. Through careful and creative fixture choices and truss placement, we were able to create dynamic and exciting productions for both broadcast viewers and those in attendance on the show floor.

WHY IT WORKED

We incorporated a versatile design that achieved distinctive aesthetics for both press events and public viewing. Although there were over 40 cars, we sculpted each car to specifically enhance its individual structure. The subtle art of highlighting the curves on the door line or accenting an intricately designed grill can have a major subconscious impact on the viewer. Using an innovative response to a sophisticated project, Lightswitch achieved a balance between two different events within one design.
