Cisco’s producer XDAgency turned to Lightswitch again for lighting and visual design and also content management and curating for the massive Cisco Live! Event. Lightswitch services covered both the Innovation Showcase on the expo floor and the massive keynote for tens of thousands of guests.
In contrast to the soaring arena of 2017, Cisco Live 2018 was staged in a lower, larger footprint expo hall at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, FL. Working with the XD Agency creative team, Lightswitch helped craft a design solution for the keynote space that wrapped its arms around the audience and felt as appropriate for this space as 2017’s design felt for the Mandalay Bay Event Centre. Featuring two massive travelling LED screens, a vast array of kinetic LED rods on computer-controlled winches and hundreds of moving lights, the visual spectacle was as impressive as the cutting-edge network solutions Cisco's presenters delivered. As the meeting evolved so did the architecture, with the kinetic rods relocated between sessions to give guests an ever-changing vista. Disguise GX servers were used to manage and deliver content, as well as create ‘Notch’ live generative visuals. For the Innovation Showcase, an array of flown panels created a visual ‘cloud’ above the space, anchoring the presentations, defining the showcase and ensuring distinctive visibility across the cluttered show floor.
