Hong Kong Jockey Club - HVRC PS Lobby

Lightswitch designed the lighting for the new lobby, focusing on creating a dynamic, exciting environment in the heavily trafficked space.

What It Was

The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Happy Valley Racecourse Public Stand lobby and elevator bank got a colorful lift with new LED lighting and modern interiors. Aedas designed the renovation of the 270-square-meter interior, which also includes a betting counter.

What We Did

Lightswitch designed the lighting for the new lobby, focusing on creating a dynamic, exciting environment in the heavily trafficked space. With the client’s youthful target audience in mind, we lined ceiling coves and the feature wall with color-changing LED lighting programmed to run a variety of patterns, including pre-set themes that coordinate with regular club events. We coordinated with the supplier to ensure that the LED product we selected could effectively execute the desired effect. Downlights provide additional ambient illumination for circulation spaces.

Why It Worked

The colorful illumination transformed the lobby from a lackluster circulation space into a memorable experience that complements the club’s new, upgraded look, as part of its club-wide renovation program.
