DWP Hong Kong | Hong Kong | 2012

With metallics in mind, Lightswitch used warm, amber-hued lighting to illuminate the lobby, dining and VIP rooms, and betting counters.

What It Was

All that glitters isn’t gold. At the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s newly renovated 3F Owners’ Club at the Sha Tin racecourse, metallics DWP Hong Kong in many other forms too, including hammered silver pendants, reflective tile mosaic walls, and chrome accents. Interior designer dwp mixed metal finishes to create a warm, luxurious atmosphere befitting the VIP clients at this 2,000-square-meter restaurant.

What We Did

With metallics in mind, Lightswitch used warm, amber-hued lighting to illuminate the lobby, dining and VIP rooms, and betting counters. For the elaborate ceiling cove—a focal element—we used 2,700K linear LED to delineate the cove edges and clustered silver drum pendants around the dropped ceiling for ambient and decorative illumination. The same amber-hued cove rings the base of the buffet and food service prep stations for additional emphasis.

Why It Worked

Given the unique, custom design elements, the project required extensive coordination with the contractor and lighting supplier to make sure that all the details were correctly fabricated and installed. Lightswitch worked with both teams and dwp to ensure proper integration of the new lighting system.
